Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University’s Uthongtawarawadi Educational Center in Suphanburi has been continuously developing to enhance local knowledge and skills. Through various academic and community-focused initiatives, the center is actively contributing to capacity-building efforts that align with key policy objectives, including sustainable development, economic empowerment, and the adoption of innovative technologies. These initiatives are designed to provide valuable outreach and upskilling opportunities for policymakers and lawmakers involved in shaping local and regional policies.

The U-Thong Learning Centre plays a crucial role in promoting sustainable living and conservation practices. It offers multiple community-centered initiatives that foster education and hands-on learning about biodiversity, agriculture, and sustainable resource management. The Royal Science Learning Center Project (pages 4-5) serves as a central resource for economic plants, rare plants, and Suphan Buri native rice varieties, providing an accessible knowledge hub for those interested in local flora and conservation. This initiative is a key resource for policymakers and lawmakers, offering practical insights into sustainable agriculture and local biodiversity conservation that can inform regional agricultural policies.

Additionally, the Herbal Garden Learning Center Project (page 14) showcases a prototype for sustainable herbal gardens using advanced technology and community participation. This project allows for public study and research into herbal products, offering valuable knowledge on sustainable farming practices and natural resource use. Such projects support lawmakers in formulating policies that encourage sustainable agriculture, health, and wellness, particularly in rural communities.

The center’s Elderly Health Promotion and Rehabilitation Center Project (pages 8-17) focuses on public health initiatives that support the physical and mental wellness of the elderly and the general public. This project provides a model for promoting healthy aging and community health policies, creating a welcoming green space for wellness activities. It is directly relevant to lawmakers working on policies related to aging populations, public health, and social care services.

Beyond these projects, the Learning Center for the Sufficiency Economy (page 12) offers community-based activities that educate participants on sustainable practices rooted in resilience and resourcefulness. Open to the public free of charge, this initiative is a valuable resource for lawmakers seeking to integrate sustainable and self-sufficient economic models into regional and national policies.

Through these ongoing programs, Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University’s Uthongtawarawadi Educational Center is creating a bridge between academia, local communities, and policymakers, fostering a more collaborative approach to regional development. By involving lawmakers in these initiatives, the center ensures that policy frameworks consider both modern scientific approaches and local traditions, promoting a more inclusive and sustainable future. These efforts align with broader goals of providing lawmakers with the tools they need to address pressing issues such as climate change, economic growth, and technological innovation.
