In alignment with SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University (BSRU) prioritizes sustainable standards in the construction and maintenance of its campus infrastructure. In 2023, BSRU took a significant step towards sustainable campus development by implementing a water recycling initiative through a constructed rainwater collection system in its new stadium. This project reflects the university’s commitment to environmental stewardship by integrating sustainable practices into new builds.

The newly constructed stadium, completed in 2024, was designed with a state-of-the-art rainwater collection and recycling system. This innovative system gathers rainwater and repurposes it to irrigate the stadium’s sports field, ensuring efficient water use and reducing the university’s dependence on external water sources. The collected rainwater is now used to maintain the field’s lawn, minimizing water waste while sustaining a green and well-maintained sports environment for students, staff, and the community.

BSRU’s approach to sustainable development through eco-friendly building standards in new facilities demonstrates a commitment to reducing environmental impact and promoting resource efficiency. This initiative not only serves to conserve water but also supports the university’s broader mission to integrate sustainable practices throughout campus development.
