Fostering International Collaboration: Supporting Students from Low and Lower-Middle Income Countries at BSRU
Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University (BSRU) is committed to creating an inclusive and globally connected learning environment by fostering international collaboration, especially for students from low and lower-middle income countries in ASEAN. A prime example of this commitment is the 7th ASEAN Youth Camp 2023, held from March 8 to 15, 2023. The event brought together 31 participants from six institutions across Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Laos, and the Philippines, with a specific focus on empowering students from economically disadvantaged regions.

The camp, organized by BSRU’s International Affairs Division, aimed to promote cultural exchange, academic collaboration, and mutual understanding among ASEAN youth. By providing a platform for students from diverse backgrounds to engage in dialogue and learn from each other, the university seeks to strengthen cross-cultural relationships and foster sustainable development in the region.
Participants in the camp included students and lecturers from institutions such as Phnom Penh International University (Cambodia), the University of Danang (Vietnam), Universitas Mahasaraswati Denpasar (Indonesia), and the National University of Laos. BSRU covered the full cost of attendance for each participant, with a total budget of 372,000 THB, equivalent to 12,000 THB per participant, ensuring that financial barriers did not prevent talented individuals from attending.

BSRU’s support for international students, particularly from low-income countries, reflects its mission to expand access to education and collaboration opportunities. The university believes in the power of education to transform lives and is dedicated to providing students from disadvantaged backgrounds with opportunities to engage in regional and global initiatives. This approach aligns with BSRU’s broader efforts to internationalize its academic programs, enhance cultural understanding, and contribute to capacity-building within ASEAN’s lower-income countries.
