Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University (BSRU) is committed to promoting lifelong learning and cultural awareness by hosting educational events open to the public. These initiatives aim to foster knowledge-sharing, skill development, and intercultural understanding, making education accessible and relevant to diverse community members.

1. 3rd International Arts and Culture Festival

In August 2023, BSRU’s Office of Arts and Culture, in collaboration with the College of Music and the Department of Performing Arts, hosted the 3rd International Arts and Culture Festival. The event featured renowned artists from various countries who led workshops and cultural exchanges in ASEAN music and dance. Open to students and the general public, this festival enriched the community’s cultural knowledge and strengthened international networks. Assistant Professor Dr. Pisanu Bangkiew, Vice President of BSRU, welcomed participants, reflecting the university’s commitment to cultural education.

2.Friends of Museum Siam: Library Books Share

BSRU’s Library and Information Technology Center joined the Museum Siam in July 2023 for the “Library Books Share” event. Dr. Nuttachai Plianwijarn, the center’s Deputy Director, participated in this book-sharing network initiative. The event included a rare book exhibition and a workshop on creating compost from eggshells, highlighting environmental education alongside literacy promotion. Open to a wide audience, this initiative brought together book lovers and fostered collaboration between BSRU’s library and eight other partner libraries.

 

3.Music for the Elderly Program

The BSRU College of Music launched a unique program dedicated to senior citizens, offering music workshops that enhance their well-being and provide an opportunity for creative expression. Open to elderly participants from the local community, this program underscores BSRU’s dedication to accessible education for all ages.

 

4.ASEAN+3 Cultural Exhibition and Performance

In March 2023, BSRU’s Office of International Affairs and ASEAN Network held the “ASEAN+3 Cultural Exhibition and Unity Performance.” The event featured cultural performances and exhibitions celebrating ASEAN diversity, fostering cultural exchange and unity among ASEAN+3 countries. The second day included a mini-conference focusing on daily cultural practices, with the theme “Diversity in One Community for Sustainable Development.” Open to all, the event emphasized mutual understanding and regional solidarity.

 

5.Training on Product Development and Standards

In January 2023, the Utong Dvaravati Education Center hosted a workshop on product development, food safety, and hygiene standards to support local businesses. Led by Assistant Professor Dr. Panita Chatnalaw and other experts, the training provided valuable insights into food and drug standards, offering local entrepreneurs the knowledge needed to improve their product quality and meet regulatory standards.

 

6. 21st-Century Teaching Skills Workshop

BSRU’s Demonstration School organized a workshop in May 2023 for teachers, focusing on competency-based teaching to improve educational quality in small schools. Led by Professor Bangorn Sereerat, the workshop was available both on-site and online, providing teachers from Bangkok and nearby provinces with practical skills and certificates. This initiative represents BSRU’s efforts to improve education quality and expand professional development opportunities for teachers.

These events highlight BSRU’s dedication to accessible education, cultural appreciation, and sustainable development by inviting the public to participate in diverse learning experiences that foster community growth and resilience.
