As part of its commitment to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University (BSRU) actively engages in diverse collaborations with health institutions at local and national levels. These partnerships aim to enhance healthcare accessibility, promote healthy lifestyles, and equip students with essential skills for their professional careers in health and medical fields. Through these collaborative efforts, BSRU not only contributes to improving community health outcomes but also aligns with broader national public health initiatives, fostering a healthier society. The following sections highlight BSRU’s partnerships and their impact on local and national health and well-being.

Local Collaborations

Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University (BSRU) actively collaborates with health institutions and community organizations to improve health and well-being outcomes in local communities. Through partnerships with various hospitals and health service facilities, BSRU supports students in the Faculty of Medical Technology with practical experience during their final-year internships. Students complete a one-year placement at 10 different partner hospitals, gaining essential hands-on training in patient care and healthcare delivery.

Additionally, BSRU’s Suriya Emergency Volunteer Club collaborates with Pho Tek Tung Foundation, a reputable non-profit emergency medical organization. This partnership enhances the health-focused activities organized by the Suriya Club, promoting community well-being through CPR and AED training programs, emergency response drills, and public health events.

On September 25, 2023, Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University’s Department of Herbal and Cannabis Science partnered with Mahasarakham University’s Faculty of Pharmacy and Farm Care Cosmeceutical to advance academic and practical training in herbal sciences. This collaboration includes knowledge exchange, joint research, training programs, internship opportunities, and scholarships, all aimed at enhancing expertise in herbal extraction, product development, and cannabis science.

Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University (BSRU) actively partners with local health institutions to enhance community well-being and instill a sense of social responsibility. One prominent collaboration is with the Department of Blood Bank Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital at Mahidol University. On Wednesday, February 1, 2023, BSRU’s Student Affairs Office, in partnership with Siriraj’s medical faculty, organized a blood donation campaign. This initiative supports patients in urgent need of blood while raising awareness of the health benefits of regular blood donation, such as improved circulation and rejuvenated skin. The event, held on the first floor of Building 1, drew substantial participation from students, faculty, and community members.

National Collaborations

At the national level, BSRU collaborates with the National Blood Centre of the Thai Red Cross Society to extend its impact on health and wellness. On Wednesday, September 27, 2023, BSRU hosted the 26th “Blood Donation to Save Lives, Instilling the Spirit of Giving” campaign at its main activity space. This event invited students, faculty, and staff to participate in a life-saving act of blood donation. For students, the event also provided public service credits and six volunteer hours for those with student loans, promoting both social responsibility and academic engagement. The program emphasized the importance of preparing physically for donation, while strictly prohibiting individuals who use cannabis or kratom from donating due to the potential risks to blood recipients.

BSRU extends its commitment to public health improvement through national-level collaborations that emphasize a smoke-free society and overall health promotion. Through the Declaration of Cooperation for a Smoke-Free Thai Society, BSRU, along with the deans of all public health professional organizations across 38 Rajabhat Universities, works towards reducing tobacco use in Thailand.

This nationwide initiative promotes a healthy, smoke-free society by integrating anti-smoking campaigns and education into public health curricula and outreach programs.

An MOU with the Fitness & Lifestyle Group (Thailand) Co., Ltd., facilitates health and wellness initiatives aimed at fostering healthier lifestyles for university students and staff. This partnership promotes fitness programs, lifestyle improvement workshops, and accessible health resources, aiming to build a sustainable foundation for well-being within BSRU and beyond. BSRU also maintains an academic cooperation agreement with Thonburi Thepphaplarak School, focusing on shared public health resources and facilities that support community outreach and student-led health education projects.
