Planning development – new build standards
In Sublink 1, the university prioritizes sustainable building construction for the Sports Field, focusing on energy efficiency, renewable energy, environmental impact, and green space expansion. On pages 102-103, regarding thermal resistance, the insulation installed under the roof is made of cross-linked polyethylene foam. This insulator exhibits high thermal resistance, approximately 23 hr·sq·ft·°F/BTU, with a thickness of about 10 mm. The higher the thermal resistance value, the more challenging it is for heat to flow through, thereby reducing the accumulation of heat within the system. Moreover, the windows and doors primarily consist of glass, which is a transparent material allowing all light rays to pass through. The transmittance of the glass is approximately 0.9, indicating that around 90% of light can penetrate the interior of the building. The illumination inside the building is sufficient for regular activities, rendering the use of light bulbs unnecessary (Pages 113-117).
