Integrating SDG Education into Community Outreach: English Language Training for Sustainable Development
In 2024, Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University (BSRU) extended its commitment to Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) through a dedicated outreach training program organized by the Office of Academic Affairs and Registration. Held on June 6–7, the program, “Personnel Development to Drive the University to the International Level,” incorporated English language training linked directly to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their 169 targets, grouped into the five dimensions of People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace, and Partnership. Participants, including university staff and community members, engaged in interactive workshops that combined language learning with activities fostering awareness of the SDGs, creative problem-solving, and teamwork. This initiative not only enhanced participants’ English communication skills but also promoted understanding of how the SDGs apply to both professional contexts and wider community development. By integrating SDG education into practical training, BSRU provided a platform for empowering participants to contribute to sustainable change within their communities.
