Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University (BSRU) is committed to making its cultural and historical heritage accessible to the public, aligning with SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities). Through free entry to museums, galleries, and exhibitions, BSRU fosters a connection with local history, art, and education.

Hall of Fame

The Hall of Fame celebrates BSRU’s historical legacy, showcasing influential figures who have shaped the university and the nation, including visits from members of the Thai royal family. This exhibition pays tribute to Somdet Chao Phraya Borom Maha Sri Suriyawong (Chuang Bunnag) and other notable individuals who contributed to BSRU’s development and the community. Visitors can freely explore these stories, connecting with the institution’s deep historical roots and contributions to Thai society.

BSRU Thonburi Knowledge Centre

The Thonburi Knowledge center offers an immersive experience of Thonburi’s history, featuring exhibitions on the region’s transformation over the past 200 years. Highlights include fossil and archeological displays, accounts of the river-based way of life, and the construction of iconic landmarks like Wat Arun. These exhibitions are accessible to the public free of charge, with prior booking. On February 16, 2023, BSRU’s Graduate School led a group of 114 faculty members to visit the Thonburi Study Learning Center. The Thonburi Study Learning Center, offering free entry on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, allows students and the public to explore Thonburi’s rich historical heritage in three sessions.

University Museum and Art Spaces

The Office of Arts and Culture provides public access to the Thonburi Study Learning Center, Ekanat House, and the Hall of Honor. Each space preserves Thai cultural heritage, displaying artworks and artifacts significant to Thonburi’s history and arts. Entry is free, allowing the community to experience cultural heritage up close.

Sri Suriyawong Theatre (Chuang Bunnag)

The Sri Suriyawong Theatre (Chuang Bunnag), located within the 150th Anniversary Building of Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University, stands as a landmark of both cultural heritage and modern performance art. Renovated and reopened in 2017, the theatre features advanced lighting, sound, and stage systems, making it a state-of-the-art venue for artistic expression. It serves as a central space for theatrical productions, concerts, and cultural events, while also honoring the legacy of Somdet Chuang Bunnag through its dedication to preserving Thailand’s artistic traditions.

Experience BSRU Heritage

By offering free and open access to its museums, galleries, and performance spaces, BSRU strengthens the bridge between education, culture, and the community. These initiatives not only preserve and celebrate Thailand’s rich heritage but also foster inclusive cultural participation, ensuring that art, history, and knowledge are accessible to everyone. Through these efforts, BSRU reinforces its role as a vibrant cultural hub that inspires learning, nurtures creativity, and contributes to building sustainable, culturally enriched communities.
