In 2023, Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University (BSRU) successfully completed construction projects on brownfield sites, advancing its commitment to sustainable campus development. These projects include the Cho Chong Ko U Thong Dvaravati Dormitory, the access road and parking facilities surrounding the dormitory, and the Uthong Thawarawadi Education Center Auditorium Building. Each of these developments took place on previously developed land that had been underused or required the demolition of older structures to optimize space use for the growing needs of the university and surrounding community.

Cho Chong Ko U Thong Dvaravati Dormitory (p.27-29)
The university’s new dormitory, “Cho Chong Ko U Thong Dvaravati Dormitory,” was established with an initial construction investment of 48,363,000 baht. Additional works were undertaken to enhance the building’s functionality, costing 30,943,637.38 baht, and included 4,475,000 baht for equipment and materials, totaling 63,781,649.18 baht. This project transformed an underused area, formerly occupied by structures needing modernization, into a functional living space for students and staff.

Improving Access Road and Parking Facilities (p. 27-29)
To complement the dormitory construction, BSRU developed a 4-meter-wide access road leading to the dormitory building, running 108.90 meters from the main area to an existing road parallel to the Suriyamonthon Building. This improvement, completed by Wattana Phatthana Company Limited for 5,495,200 baht, also includes a car park with 57 spaces and motorcycle parking with 133 spaces. The final work, which involved expanding the checkpoint road, landscaping, and constructing a carport roof frame, was completed in 2023.
The Uthong Thawarawadi Education Center Auditorium, a two-storey reinforced concrete building, has a usable area of 3,943 square meters and is designed to support both university and community events. It features three multipurpose rooms on the first floor and a large meeting room on the second floor with an 800-person capacity. The building’s purpose includes venue rental services, providing facilities for training, conferences, and other activities for internal and external agencies. This auditorium replaced an underutilized area, turning it into a valuable community and university resource.
Each project serves as evidence of BSRU’s commitment to reusing brownfield sites for sustainable campus expansion, aligning with the SDG indicator for responsible land use.
