In alignment with SDG 11, Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University’s U-Thong Thawarawadi Study Center, located at the Suphan Buri Campus, provides expansive green space and learning opportunities for the public across 163 rai. This significant area promotes both conservation and development of agricultural land and herbal gardens, bringing together local wisdom and sustainable practices that benefit the community and environment.

The U-Thong Learning Centre offers multiple community-centered initiatives that foster sustainable living and conservation practices. The Royal Science Learning Center Project (pages 4-5) serves as a central resource for economic plants, rare plants, and Suphan Buri native rice varieties, making it an accessible knowledge hub for anyone interested in biodiversity and local flora. Additionally, the Herbal Garden Learning Center Project (page 14) provides a prototype for sustainable herbal gardens using advanced technology and community participation, enabling public study and research into herbal products. By emphasizing community engagement, these projects encourage a hands-on approach to learning about conservation and sustainable resource use.
The campus is also home to the Elderly Health Promotion and Rehabilitation Center Project (pages 8-17), where public health initiatives are held for the elderly and general public, supporting physical and mental wellness in a welcoming green space. Beyond these projects, the Learning Center for the Sufficiency Economy (page 12) is open to the public free of charge, offering community-based activities that educate participants on sustainable practices rooted in resilience and resourcefulness.
Through these publicly accessible green spaces and educational resources, BSRU demonstrates its commitment to sustainable urban development and inclusive community engagement, fostering learning and well-being within an environment that reflects the university’s values and vision for a sustainable future.
