The university joined as a committee to establish the Drug Prevention and Suppression Center in Thonburi District which is the location of the university (see pages 1-2, 6-7) and joined the project to be one of the smoke-free higher education institutions in 2021 (see page 9).

The university announced a campaign to be “the Smoke-Free University” by referring to the tobacco products control act which is about the sale of tobacco products is prohibited to persons under the age of 18. If a person who violates, including prohibiting the sale of other products and free cigarettes or selling cigarettes and getting other products, and banning direct and indirect advertising, will be punished with a one-month imprisonment or a fine of not more than 2,000 baht, including prohibiting the sale of other products and free cigarettes or selling cigarettes and getting other products, and banning direct and indirect advertising. The announcement also referred to the health protection act of non-Smokers and an explanation about the dangers of cigarettes affecting health.
